Workshop description

Join us for a conversation with one of the most innovative thinkers in the world of neurology. Dr. Indu Subramanian has woven integrative medicine, particularly Yoga and mindfulness, into her clinical practice. In addition to creating a full-spectrum integrative wellness model for people with Parkinson's, Dr. Subramanian has explored the gender divide in Parkinson's care and researches the impact of loneliness and stigma on health outcomes.

Dr. Subramanian received her medical degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. She did her neurology residency and Movement Disorders fellowship training at UCLA. She has stayed on at UCLA and is now a Clinical Professor of Neurology. She established the movement disorder clinic at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration and has assumed the position of the Director of the South West PADRECC (Parkinson Disease Research, Education and Clinical Care) Center of Excellence in Parkinson Disease.

She completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training and studied mindfulness at the VA with J.G. Serpa and Christian Wolfe through Insight LA. She is designing a yoga teacher training program for yoga instructors who are interested in working with PD patients. She is also passionate about palliative care in Parkinson Disease. She is doing a contemplative fellowship for health care providers through the New York Zen Center and is an AAN Palatucci Fellow.

Dr. Subramanian is board certified in Neurology and Integrative Medicine.

The session begins with an overview of topics related to Dr. Subramanian's current research, and features a Q&A and group discussion. Don't miss this special opportunity to connect with one of the most exciting voices in Parkinson's neurology today.
