Lisa Johnston
Boulder, CO USA
Lisa Johnston brings decades of experience in movement, performance, and community-based arts. She worked professionally as an aerial dancer in the U.S., Europe, and Southeast Asia, performing duo trapeze, corde lisse, and tissu in circuses and Variété theaters. Her training includes the National Theater Institute, the centre national des arts du cirque, and the San Francisco School of Circus Arts.
Lisa joined a Dance for Parkinson’s class in Boulder, Colorado in 2018—first as a volunteer, then as program director at 3rd Law Dance/Theater from 2019–2024. During that time, she helped create performances, conversations, and film events that celebrated creativity through movement. Lisa completed her Dance for PD certification in 2025, bringing together her professional performance background, community arts experience, and commitment to Parkinson’s-specific movement programs.
Lisa is currently the Senior Program Manager for Pedaling for Parkinson’s at the Davis Phinney Foundation, where she helps people with Parkinson’s live well today through cycling, education, and connection. She believes in the joy and power of shared movement and is deeply honored to be part of the Dance for PD community.
