Delilah Smyth

Delilah Smyth currently lives with her family in Victoria, BC, Canada. A Kentucky native, Delilah joined the Louisville Ballet in 1992. As a first soloist with the company she danced many soloist and principal roles including Myrtha in Giselle, the solo girl in Rubies and the polka couple inCompany B. After retiring from the stage in 2007 Delilah became the Director of Education for the company. In that role she developed movement programs for all levels of the Louisville public school system, conducted residency programs in a range of community organizations and led Lecture Demonstrations across the state of Kentucky.
Along with her dance career Delilah is also a celebrated choreographer. As a choreographer she has worked on dance, opera and musical theater productions. She has choreographed most extensively for Actors Theatre of Louisville, the home of the prestigious Humana Festival of New American Plays. In 2003 Delilah received a Kentucky Arts Council Fellowship, an award given for outstanding work created by Kentucky choreographers, composers and writers.
