Malika Berney

Malika Berney is a contemporary dancer based in Oslo, Norway. She is a co-founder of Parkinson Danser—Norway’s first Dance for PD community—hosted at the Norwegian National Ballet & Opera. She freelances with Jo Strømgren Kompani and Panta Rei Danseteater, touring nationally and internationally.

She obtained a Bachelor of Dance with Minor in Choreography at ArtEZ University of the Arts (Netherlands) in 2019. Since then, Malika has performed works by renowned choreographers across Europe and has choreographed several works in Australia and Switzerland. Alongside performing, she teaches pre-professional dancers in both Australia and Norway.

Parallel to her artistic career, Malika holds two Graduate Diplomas in Psychology from Monash University (Australia) and is collaborating with neuroscientist Dr. Joseph DeSouza (York University, Canada) on research into dance and neurodegeneration. She began teaching Dance for PD® in 2021 under Paris Wages in Melbourne, contributing to the 2022 performance, Magical Moments in Dance.
