Giving through a DAF
What is a Donor Advised Fund and what are the advantages of giving in this way?
Donor Advised Funds (DAF) programs are tax-efficient funds, set up through your financial institution or community foundation, which offer individuals, families, and businesses unmatched support to maximize charitable giving. You may gain an immediate tax deduction and then have the opportunity to recommend grants at your own pace across time.
As a program of Discalced Inc (the legal name for the Mark Morris Dance Group), Dance for PD partners with DAF sponsor organizations large and small and their philanthropic service teams in the United States. We cannot set up a fund for you, but we are eligible to receive grants through any fund that you create through sponsor organization.
Clients of BNY Mellon, Fidelity Charitable, and Schwab Charitable: Make a donor advised fund gift easily through the DAF Direct window at the bottom of this page.
Clients of Brooklyn Org: Reach out to your donor advised fund advisor here.
Clients of other Donor Advised Fund institutions: Please contact your financial advisor who can guide you through making a gift.
Our tax ID number is 13-3577394. Please note our legal name is Discalced Inc.
Designation: Grants made to Discalced Inc can be designated in the following ways:
– For Discalced Inc to use for a specific program like Dance for PD
– For Discalced Inc to use wherever funding is needed most
To designate your gift, enter “Dance for PD” or “wherever it is needed most” in the designation field. Note that the latter option means funding will be directed wherever it is needed most in the broad spectrum of programs offered by the Mark Morris Dance Group. If you would like your gift only to be used for Dance for PD, then you will want to make sure to list “Dance for PD” in the designation field or when speaking with your financial advisor.
Donor Advised Funds and Membership: If you would like your donor advised fund to go towards a membership, please note that due to restrictions, donor advised funds can only go towards the tax-deductible portion of any membership.
