Louise Boyd

Born in Paisley, Scotland, Louise Boyd started dancing at the ‘Scottish Ballet’ Junior Associate program, which led to 5 years training at The Dance School of Scotland. She was offered a scholarship and graduated with Honors from ‘Laine Theatre Arts’ in London, where she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, contemporary (Graham Technique), hip-hop, pas de deux/ pointe and also received her teaching diploma. At 16 Louise was a founding member of ‘Jazz Art UK’ Dance Company, under the direction of Sheridan Nicol (Bob Fosse, Alvin Ailey), and a resident dancer at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow 1995-2000. Louise joined Carnival Cruise Lines (2000-2005) working with choreographers George Reich, Joan Palethorpe and Minnie Madden and was also an inaugural cast member for several new productions.
During a ship launch from Helsinki/ Finland, Louise met her husband Jack Boyd who was the sound engineer for their new Beatles production “Ticket To Ride”. They both currently live with their 6 year old son Oliver in Munster, Indiana. Louise is a member of The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), specializing in seniors fitness. Her classes range anywhere from ‘gentle aerobics’ to ‘chair yoga’ and always incorporates some form of dance into each of her classes. Louise is also a SilverSneakers Instructor and has been voted as one of the top 10 Instructors in the US, in both 2018 & 2019. Louise also teaches dance for a Kids Health and Fitness program throughout Chicago and NWI, which teaches the benefits of dance, exercise and nutrition to Elementary school children, to try and bring awareness and prevention to childhood obesity. Louise completed the Introductory Workshop for Dance for PD at the Julliard School, NY in 2017, and completed her advanced training in 2018. She launched her first Dance for Parkinson’s class in Highland, Indiana 2018 and has managed to expand to 3 different locations through NWI and South Chicagoland areas.
