Trademark usage
The name Dance for PD® is synonymous with high-quality dance classes for people with Parkinson’s disease, as well as a specific approach and methodology used to design inspiring, beneficial and creative movement experiences for the Parkinson’s community. The Dance for PD® name and trademark represents quality, innovation and excellence. This guide is designed to ensure that licensed users of the trademark and associated logos know how to refer appropriately to Dance for PD® across various contexts and media.
When using the Dance for PD® name, we ask that you:
-Distinguish the trademark from the surrounding text in some way by italicizing the entire mark, place the mark in quotes, or using a different type style or font for the mark than for the generic name.
-Spell and capitalize the trademark exactly like this: Dance for PD®.
-Use the trademark only as an adjective, never as a noun or verb, and never in the plural or possessive form.
-Use the generic term for the service following the trademark, for example: Dance for PD® class, Dance for PD® DVD, Dance for PD® Certified Teacher.
-Use Dance for PD® logos exactly as they appear here:
-Only when one of the primary logos has already been used in a document is it permissible to use the short logo in the same document:
-When logos are reproduced, they must be reproduced at a sufficient resolution to ensure clear representation without blurring or distortion.
-Match Dance for PD® colors exactly when printing or replicated the logo:

-Maintain a minimum spacing of 25 pixels between each side of the logo and other graphic or textual elements on your web page.

-Include the following legend, when appropriate, to describe the marks: Dance for PD® and the Dance for PD logo are trademarks of Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson Group, used under license.
When using the Dance for PD® name or trademark, please don’t:
-Remove, distort or alter any element of the Dance for PD® name or trademark.
-Modify the trademark, for example, through hyphenation, combination or abbreviation. Do not shorten, abbreviate, or create acronyms out of Dance for PD® trademarks (such as DfPD or DforPD).
-Display the Dance for PD® name or trademark as the most prominent element on your web page.
-Display the Dance for PD® name or trademark in any manner that can be reasonably interpreted to suggest editorial content has been authored by, or represents the views or opinions of Dance for PD® or Mark Morris Dance Group or Dance for PD® and Mark Morris Dance group personnel.
-Display the Dance for PD® name or trademark on any website that contains or displays adult content or violates any applicable law.
-Display the Dance for PD® name or trademark in a manner that is in Mark Morris Dance Group’s sole opinion misleading, unfair, defamatory, infringing, libelous, disparaging, obscene or otherwise objectionable to Mark Morris Dance Group or Dance for PD®.
-Display the Dance for PD® name or trademark on a site that violates any law or regulation.
-Display the Dance for PD® name or trademark into your own product name, service names, trademarks, logos, or company names.
-Copy or imitate Dance for PD®’s trade dress, including the look and feel of Dance for PD® web design properties or Dance for PD® product packaging, distinctive color combinations, typography, graphic designs, product icons, or imagery associated with Dance for PD®.
-Use Dance for PD®’s trademark in a way that suggests a common, descriptive, or generic meaning.
