Born and raised in Chile, Joyse Schumacher grew up in an artistic family and developed a deep interest in music and the arts in general. In Chile, she studied music with Luis Jara. She has appeared on television and with bands in Chile and Argentina, where she also studied with Valeria Lynch. In New York City, Joyse works as a teaching artist in public school programs where she teaches music, drums and percussion, yoga and mindfulness, dance and drama.
